ความเจริญก้าวหน้าทางด้านเทคโนโลยีในโลกยุคปัจจุบัน ทำให้ผู้คนในชาติต่างๆ ใกล้ชิดกัน และติดต่อสื่อสารกันมากยิ่งขึ้น ไม่ว่าจะเป็นในส่วนของการท่องเที่ยว การดำเนินธุรกิจ หรือกิจกรรมอื่นๆ ภาษานับเป็นสื่อกลางสำคัญเพื่อการติดต่อสื่อสารอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ภาษาอังกฤษนับได้ว่าเป็นภาษาที่สำคัญที่สุดภาษาหนึ่งของโลก ภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษาเดียวที่สามารถเชื่อมโยงโลกทั้งใบเข้าไว้ด้วยกันอย่างแท้จริง ในขณะที่ภาษาอื่นๆมีความสำคัญในการสื่อสารระดับท้องถิ่นและในฐานะที่เป็นวัฒนธรรมของชาติ ภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษาที่เราสามารถใช้ได้แทบจะทุกที่ในโลก เนื่องจากในแต่ละท้องถิ่น อย่างน้อยจะมีคนส่วนหนึ่งที่เข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษ
นอกจากนี้แล้ว ในยุคของสังคมแห่งการเรียนรู้ อินเตอร์เนตนับเป็นแหล่งความรู้สำคัญ เป็นหน้าต่างที่ช่วยเราในการสืบค้น ศึกษาหาความรู้ได้อย่างกว้างขวางอย่างไม่มีขีดจำกัด ทั้งนี้ภาษาอังกฤษก็ยังคงเป็นภาษาหลักในการใช้งานอินเทอร์เนต กล่าวได้ว่าเราสามารถหาข้อมูลทุกอย่างได้จากเว็บไซต์ภาษาอังกฤษ ภาษาอังกฤษจึงนับเป็นสื่อกลางสำคัญเพื่อให้เข้าถึงคลังความรู้ขนาดใหญ่ของโลกได้
โรงเรียนอัตตาภิวัฒน์จัดการเรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษ เพื่อพัฒนานักเรียนให้เกิดความมั่นใจและเชื่อมั่นในตนเองในการนำเอาภาษาอังกฤษไปใช้งาน ให้นักเรียนเกิดความรักและกระหายใคร่รู้ มีความสุขกับ การอ่าน เขียน ฟังและพูดภาษาอังกฤษ ให้นักเรียนมีทักษะและเจตคติที่ดีต่อภาษาอังกฤษ เพื่อนำไปต่อยอดใช้ในชีวิตประจำวัน และการเรียนต่อในระดับที่สูงขึ้นในโรงเรียนทั้งในและต่างประเทศ
การจัดการเรียนรู้วิชาภาษาอังกฤษของโรงเรียนอัตตาภิวัฒน์ ได้ใช้ข้อกำหนด และมาตรฐานในหลักสูตรแกนกลางการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน พุทธศักราช ๒๕๕๑ เป็นเกณฑ์ขั้นต่ำ โดยอาศัยแนวทางการจัดการเรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษาต่างชาติ (English as a Foreign Language : EFL) ในหลักสูตรมาตรฐานโลกเป็นแกนหลักในการพัฒนาเป็นหลักสูตรของโรงเรียน การจัดการเรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษโดยทีมคณะครูกลุ่มสาระภาษาอังกฤษที่มีทั้งครูไทยและครูต่างประเทศเจ้าของภาษา จะเริ่มต้นตั้งแต่ระดับชั้นอนุบาล 1 และพัฒนาอย่างต่อเนื่องถึงชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6
การดำเนินการเรียนการสอนภาษาอังกฤษมุ่งเน้นการทำงานเป็นทีมของกลุ่มครูประจำสาระทั้งครูไทยและครูต่างชาติเจ้าของภาษา เพื่อสอดประสานจุดเด่นของคุณครูแต่ละท่านในการพัฒนานักเรียนสู่เป้าหมายของโรงเรียนให้เกิดผลอย่างเป็นรูปธรรมดีที่สุด บทเรียนภาษาอังกฤษของโรงเรียนจะอยู่บนพื้นฐานของการใช้ธีม (Theme) ซึ่งทำให้นักเรียนได้เห็นตัวอย่างหลากหลายที่ใช้ในชีวิตจริงของประโยคหรือรูปไวยากรณ์ในแต่ละลักษณะ เพื่อนำมาสู่หลักภาษาของรูปประโยคนั้นๆ ในขณะที่นักเรียนจะมีโอกาสได้ทำกิจกรรมเพื่อฝึกฟังและฝึกพูดกับคุณครูต่างชาติเจ้าของภาษา
สมาชิกของกลุ่มสาระภาษาอังกฤษจะทำงานประสานกันอย่างใกล้ชิด ตั้งแต่ขั้นวางแผนจนถึงการแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นในระหว่างวันที่ดำเนินการเรียนการสอน โดยที่คุณครูไทยจะรับผิดชอบในด้านหลักภาษา ซึ่งครอบคลุมถึง หลักการออกสียง (phonics) หลักไวยากรณ์ (grammar and structure) หลักการเขียน (writing) ตลอดจนถึงหลักการอ่านเพื่อสร้างความเข้าใจ (reading and comprehension) ในขณะที่ครูต่างชาติเจ้าของภาษาจะรับผิดชอบในด้านการพัฒนาทักษะการฟังและการพูด
ถึงแม้ว่าจะได้มีการแบ่งขอบเขตความรับผิดชอบอย่างเด่นชัด สมาชิกในกลุ่มสาระภาษาอังกฤษทุกท่านต่างเห็นและตระหนักถึงคุณค่าในการทำงานร่วมกันเป็นทีมเพื่อพัฒนาการเรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษอย่างดีที่สุดให้กับนักเรียนทุกคน ในการดำเนินการเรียนการสอนนั้น คณะครูไทยและครูต่างชาติจะแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นซึ่งกันและกันอยู่เสมอ เพราะคุณครูทุกท่านทราบดีว่าบ่อยครั้งที่ ในขอบเขตความรับผิดชอบของตนนั้นคาบเกี่ยวกับสมาชิกครูท่านอื่น ตัวอย่างเช่น นักเรียนจะฝึกการฟังและการพูดกับครูต่างชาติได้ดีโดยอาศัยพื้นฐานหลักการออกเสียง (phonics) ที่ได้เรียนรู้มาจากคุณครูไทย ในทำนองเดียวกันการฝึกพูดหรือฟังนั้นก็จำต้องอาศัยคำศัพท์ (vocabulary) ซึ่งได้เรียนรู้จากคุณครูไทยและ/หรือได้รับการต่อยอดเพิ่มเติมจากครูต่างชาติ และต้องอาศัยหลักไวยากรณ์เพื่อทำความเข้าใจในสิ่งที่ได้ฟังหรือพูด ทั้งนี้เพื่อให้การดำเนินการเรียนการสอนเป็นไปอย่างราบรื่น มีความสอดคล้องกัน และก่อให้เกิดผลสัมฤทธิ์ในการเรียนรู้อย่างดีที่สุด บทเรียนของคุณครูไทยและครูต่างชาตินั้นจะใช้ธีมเดียวกันคู่ขนานกันไป

โดยนักเรียนจะเรียนรู้ผ่านการทำกิจกรรมกับ บทความ หนังสือ ที่หลากหลายทั้งภาษาไทยและภาษาอังกฤษ เพื่อสร้างให้นักเรียนเกิดทักษะในการอ่านเพื่อการเรียนรู้ การพัฒนาเพื่อเป็นผู้เรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิต ซึ่งเป็นสิ่งที่สำคัญมากสำหรับสังคมปัจจุบันที่มีการพัฒนาไปอย่างรวดเร็ว
ผลสำเร็จของนักเรียนรุ่นที่ผ่านๆมาเป็นความภาคภูมิใจหนึ่งของโรงเรียนฯ โดยนักเรียนโรงเรียนอัตตาภิวัฒน์สามารถทำคะแนนการสอบวัดระดับ O-Net ได้เป็นที่หนึ่งของจังหวัดมาโดยตลอด นอกจากนั้นยังได้รับรางวัลจากการแข่งขันภาษาอังกฤษในเวทีต่างๆอยู่เสมอ ทั้งยังมีความพร้อมในการเรียนต่อในระดับมัธยม โดยนักเรียนมักผ่านการคัดเลือกเข้าศึกษาต่อในโรงเรียนมัธยมชื่อดัง และมีผลการเรียนที่น่าชื่นชม
นอกเหนือไปจากความสำเร็จด้านวิชาการแล้ว นักเรียนยังแสดงให้เห็นถึงทักษะการใช้ภาษาในชีวิตจริง โดยเห็นได้จากตัวอย่างนักเรียนที่ได้ไปเรียนและทัศนศึกษาภาคฤดูร้อนกับโรงเรียนที่ประเทศสิงคโปร์ นักเรียนสามารถใช้ภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อสื่อสารในชีวิตประจำวันได้เป็นอย่างดี เช่น การสั่งอาหาร การซื้อสินค้า และการเดินทาง รวมไปถึงการทำความเข้าใจกับภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการเรียนรู้ตามแหล่งเรียนรู้ต่างๆ เช่น สวนสัตว์ ศูนย์วิทยาศาสตร์ และพิพิธภัณฑ์
